Value Partners Limited, the Group's flagship investment management business, was incorporated in 1991 and commenced operations in February 1993. In 2006, Value Partners Limited and affiliates underwent reorganization. Ownership of Value Partners Limited and affiliates were transferred to a holding company, named Value Partners Group Limited. Value Partners Group Limited was listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited on 22 November 2007.

Value Partners Group Limited is a holding company of seven operating investment management businesses, namely Value Partners Limited, Value Partners Hong Kong Limited, Value Partners Private Equity Limited, Sensible Asset Management Limited, Value Partners Investment Services Pte Ltd, Value Partners Consulting Limited and Value Partners Index Services Limited. Value Partners Group manages and sub-manages absolute return long-biased funds, long-short hedge funds, private equity funds, quantitative funds and ETFs. The Group also provides account management services to managed accounts and manages or advises on other products including structured notes. The investor base of the Group comprises institutions, corporates, statutory authorities, pension funds, university endowment funds, charitable foundations, funds of funds, high-net-worth individuals and retail investors.

The Group distributes its products primarily through a network of distributors and strategic partnerships to utilize the marketing and sales infrastructures of its distributors and partners. The Group also has its own in-house distribution team.

As at 30 June 2010, the unaudited assets under management of Value Partners Group were approximately US$5.7 billion.
